EiderdownHarding Atlantic Cruise Series or HACS cruising sails were introduced specifically for cruising or day sailing. Our HACS line is intended for people with boats under 30 feet who are looking for sails that are both functional for cruising and a great value. Our HACS sails are computer designed and computer cut with the latest manufacturing technology. The sailcloth used for HACS cruising sails is made by Challenge Sailcloth. Challenge Sailcloth’s Performance Cruise weaves used in HACS sails are custom designed for cruising sails and feature balanced weaves and larger yarns for higher warp breaking and tear strength. Performance Cruise fabrics are designed for cruising mainsails, jibs and genoas used along coastal waterways. HACS cruising sails are constructed to withstand the test of time. Every seam is glued and triple-stitched with durable, ultraviolet resistant thread to maximize the sails long-term durability. Corner rings are either stainless steel O-rings or heavy-duty pressed rings and are sewn into the corners with webbing for extra strength. Furling headsails have sunshades made of acrylic sewn to the leech and foot to protect the sail from harmful ultraviolet rays. If you need a great cruising sail and all you’re doing is coastal cruising or day sailing, our HACS line should be right for you.
